About Solidora

Not Just a Staffing Agency

Solidora is a worker cooperative in the making. Instead of funneling money to temp agency executives, we’re creating a network where workers own the agency itself.

At Solidora, we’re rethinking the staffing agency model—because we believe workers deserve more than just a paycheck. Traditional staffing agencies can exploit workers, treating them as disposable while maximizing profits for corporate clients. We believe a better model is possible—one where workers have ownership, stability, and real decision-making power.

That means:

Higher wages & benefits – More of the money goes to the people actually doing the work.
Job security & stability – No more being treated like a gig worker without protections.
Career growth – We invest in skill-building, leadership development, and economic mobility.
Dignity & democracy at work – Workers have a say in how the cooperative operates.

This model isn’t just better for workers—it’s better for small businesses, nonprofits, and local governments who need reliable, skilled people to power their projects. By partnering with Solidora, they’re not just filling positions—they’re investing in a more just and sustainable local economy.

We’re Building Something Bigger

Right now, we’re launching projects, programs, and events to bring people together. Soon, we’ll begin taking on worker-owners, as well as partner members from small businesses, nonprofits, local governments, and other organizations that want to collaborate on lifting real people’s positions in the economy.

But we’re not stopping there.

Solidora isn’t just about jobs. We’re about building the future we actually need. A cooperative economy doesn’t just create better workplaces—it can build affordable housing, sustainable food systems, clean energy, and other real solutions that help our communities thrive.

With the right support, worker cooperatives like Solidora can:
🏡 Build affordable, community-owned housing that keeps people secure.
🌱 Develop local food systems that nourish people instead of exploiting workers.
Launch clean energy projects that make sustainable power accessible and affordable.
💼 Create real career pathways that allow people to own their work, not just rent their labor.

Turning Available Capital Into Collective Power

We already know that money exists to fund local projects—it’s just usually hoarded by corporations instead of being used to build real community wealth. Solidora will harness existing resources and redirect them to the people who actually need them.

We’ll use funding sources like:
💰 The Illinois Climate Bank – Investing in sustainable infrastructure and energy projects.
🏦 Private investment & impact funds – Redirecting wealth toward community-driven economic development.
💝 Philanthropy & grants – Supporting social enterprises and cooperative solutions.
🤝 Public partnerships – Working with local governments to create programs that actually serve working people.

The truth is, there’s enough money to go around—but right now, people are forced to fight over crumbs. The work ahead isn’t about competing for scraps—it’s about working together to bake bigger, better cookies that everyone gets a share of.
